Sunday cruise

Michael Jr came to visit us for two weeks. We decided that the best thing to do on a warm Sunday afternoon is to go out on the boat. So Mike, Michael, Michele, Kyra, Jimmy, Sophia, Jeff and I all went out. It was a great time. Mine took us out and we dropped anchor, we all swam and fished, and swam some more. Jimmy had a great time swimming but every time he got away from the boat someone had to go get him and bring him closer to the boat. We finally got smart and tied a 50 foot rope to him, so when he got tired we could pull him in. That rope ended up being the life line for all of us to get back to the boat.
After lunch we went fishing. Jeff was the first person to catch a fish on the boat but Michael was right behind Jim catching one of his own. It was such a great afternoon.
Jeff caught the first fish on the boat. Way to go Jeff.

Michael was not too far behind on catching his first fish ever.

Sophia CHEESEing for the camera.

If you look close you can see that they are all hanging on to the rope tied to the back of the boat.
It started by tying the rope to Jimmy's life jacket so we could pull him in when he got tired of swimming.
Everyone else just wanted to hang on.

Another work day

Wow we did a lot of stuff today.
Fuel sender- done
Fresh water pump- done
Stereo and speakers- installed
Caulk around the hatch and railings- done
Put on new registration and fishing stickers- done
Clean- done
Clean-done
And did I mention clean?- done

Mike climbed into the engine compartment to hook up the fuel sender and the fresh water pump.
After everything was done and everything was cleaned up we even had a little visitor…a cute little bird that was hanging out on our dock line.
WOHOO--after replacing the water pump and letting the batteries fully charge the water FINALLY works!

A little fun in the sun.

June 9, 2012
After a four hour work party (working around the marina) Mike and I wanted to go out on the boat. Melanie, Rich, Noah, Jeff, and Austin came over to go out with us. It was a good time. Rich went overboard, ok I pushed Rich over. It was a good time. Jeff and Austin also got in the water, and what the big boys do so does the little boy. After a few minutes Noah went into the water with Rich and Jeff. Noah had a great time in the water he has his life jacket and was using our life ring. We decided that next time we bring some fun pool toys to play with.
Everyone had a lot of fun and it was nice and relaxing.

The tornado

June 1, 2012
Fallston, Maryland was hit by a tornado. Mike and I were enjoying dinner at a local restaurant making plans to meet Michele to get stuff for Melanie's baby shower the next day, when the wind started blowing, it started raining, and the lights started to flicker. We were right in the path of the tornado. Although it passed by us at the restaurant with no problems there were a lot of issues in the area.
Luckily the tornado never came near the boat…but you can see the other damage below.

A little fun after a lot of work

On May 26, 2012 after five hours working on the boat doing some of the minor work that needed to be done, we decided to take the boat out. Michele and the kids came over for their first ride. After all of the kids had on their life jackets we got on the boat. This was the first time all of the kids have been on a boat so we were hoping they did well. Not only did they love being on the boat Sophie didn't want to get off the boat when we got back to the dock. Jimmy even helped uncle mike drive the boat.
